TO ALL OF THOSE WHO WERE LEFT BEHIND

I took my own life just the other day
If I could, here's what I would say
In my darkest hour Satan took over my mind
God help all of those who were left behind.

How did I go from being a high school hero
To the moment I felt I was less than zero?
Once I decided, there was no turning back
Under enormous pressure, I did crack.

I left such a mess for you to explain
The way I chose to deal with my pain
Nobody understood what I was going through
At the time it seemed like the right thing to do.

Don't cry for me, for I died by my own hand
Pray none of my survivors take the same stand
I'm so very sorry for what I've done
If I'd only reached for my Bible instead of a gun.
