Taking in sights and sounds on Bourbon Street
A wilder, wackier crowd you'll never meet
She yelled to me " throw me something mister"
I told her "not til you show me something sister."

At Mardi Gras there is no shame
Anything goes in the bead catching game
Up on the balconies and down on the ground
People proudly display treasures they've found.

Time at Mardi Gras passes so fast
From your first adventure to your last
Tops come off and your camera flashes
That's how it goes at these Mardi Gras bashes.

Scrambling for trinkets of green, purple, & gold
The pursuit of these beads will never grow old
You'll leave here with a smile on your face
Because New Orleans is one happening place.
