It's been over three years since you checked out
But Daddy you're missed, there's no doubt
I thought time would take the hurt away
Yet the pain is the same right up to this day.

How I miss the talks we had
Even the scoldings when I was bad
Remembering things you would say and do
Your death still has me feeling so blue.

Until the day we reunite in Heaven above
I will just have to remember your love
The way you took away my troubles and fears
Will keep me missing you throughout the years.

You are the yardstick to measure me as a man
I will never be you, just the best that I can
That is all that someone like me can do
I have such an act to follow in you.
