I'm thankful for the life I have to live
And for the love I have to give
I'm thankful for the joy that children bring
And for the songs we like to sing.

I'm grateful for those that I call friend
Whose compassion knows no end
I'm grateful for whatever talent I possess
And for any way I show progress.

I appreciate life's ups and downs
I like when smiles overtake frowns
I appreciate the lessons I've learned
And whatever respect that I have earned.

I'm thankful for the gift of rhyme
That I'm able to show from time to time
I'm thankful that there is a God above
Who blessed us all with so much love.
