Fighting Back

Fighting back from the stoke that tried to take me away
It's an uphill climb each and every day
Like a passenger on the Titanic
I'm trying my best not to panic.

Sailing around on the sea of confusion
Struggling against the deadly intrusion
Doing battle an enemy unseen
I must win this fight, if you know what I mean.

This enemy can strike at will
It's seek to maim, it seeks to kill
Each day I have to shake off the blues
While struggling to get dressed or tie my shoes.

Searching for the man I was before
Has become tiresome, gut-wrenching chore
I've had ailments before, but none of this kind
So I'm trying to give you a clear view of a clouded mind.
